During the Covid lockdown I found myself spending my time buying and taking care of houseplants. I found a huge community online of people enthusiastic of their own houseplants - sharing images & giving advice to one another.
At the time, there was no app on the app store which catered to only showcasing and sharing houseplants. But there was an abundance of apps helping taking care of plants.
This gap sparked the idea of creating a platform exclusively for users to upload and track their plants' progress.
The envisioned space would allow users to track their plants' growth, assign names, and celebrate milestones, enhancing their plant-related hobbies.
To initiate the project, I created a survey that focused on key questions regarding people's habits with their plants.
The aim was to gain a better understanding of the necessary features for the project.
Fortunately, I received over 80 responses to this survey.
Following the survey responses, I analysed the findings to inform and guide the designs.
Drawing inspiration from mental health apps like Headspace, I aimed for a calm and minimalist feel, prioritising content visibility.
The goal was to avoid a cluttered or overly stylised appearance.
